Hyundai Alcazar will go on sale in June with price announcement in May

Hyundai India is all set to unveil the Alcazar 7-seater SUV on April 6, 2021 in the country. However, prior to the official launch, we have learnt that it will be offered with a 2.0L petrol engine which we have already seen in Elantra and Tucson. Hyundai Alcazar will go on sale in June with a price announcement in May. In fact, a few dealers have started taking bookings for the SUV while it is expected to be priced in a range of Rs 12-19 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Hyundai Alcazar will be available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations.

Being an elongated version of the highly successful Hyundai Creta, it will have extended length and wheelbase to accommodate the third row of seats. As for styling, it borrows the majority of the elements from the Creta. Though, Hyundai has carried out a few updates in order to distinguish it from the Creta such as the new alloy wheels, flat roof, newly designed C-Pillar, redesigned rear bumper and C-shaped wraparound tail lamp cluster. Speaking of the features, Hyundai Alcazar will come loaded with a host of bells and whistles in the form of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), BlueLink connected car technology, automatic climate control with rear vents, ambient lighting and 360 degree camera.

Talking about the BS6 compliant 2.0L petrol engine, it will generate maximum power output of 152bhp and peak torque performance of 192Nm. The engine will be offered with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions. The company could also equip the SUV with the 1.4L turbocharged petrol unit with top power of 138bhp and highest torque of 250Nm. The aforesaid engine will be exclusively available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Hyundai Alcazar will be at loggerheads with the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the Indian market. The SUV will be locally developed at Hyundai's Chennai manufacturing unit with series production commencing shortly.
