Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the Defender SUV at a starting price of Rs 73.98 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. It has been introduced in two body styles: 90 (3 door) and 110 (5 door). Land Rover Defender 110 deliveries have begun while Defender 90 bookings have commenced from today with deliveries slated to start from Q1 of FY 2021. The New Defender will be available at all the 27 Land Rover outlets across India while customers can also book it online by visiting the company's official website.
Underpinning the lightweight all-aluminium monocoque D7x architecture, Land Rover Defender exterior elements include solid shoulder line, minimal front and rear overhangs, Alpine light windows, round headlights, side-hinged rear tailgate and externally mounted spare wheel. There are a total of seven exterior colour options available in the form of Fuji White, Eiger Grey, Santorini Black, Indus Silver, Tasman Blue, Pangea Green, and Gondwana Stone. In addition, JLR India is offering a range of 9 wheel designs from 18-inch steel rims to 20-inch alloys with the New Defender. The Defender 110 comes with a 5+2 seating configuration with an optional front row centre seat also known as jump seat. The boot space is 231 litres which can be further extended to 2380 litres with the second row folded down.
Land Rover Defender gets some of the most advanced features such as Terrain Response & Terrain Response 2, 3D Surround Camera system, Electronic Air Suspension, ClearSight Rear Mirror, and Land Rover’s new Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system. The New Defender sports the next-generation Electronic Vehicle Architecture (EVA 2.0) supporting SOTA (Software-Over-The-Air) updates. The infotainment in the new Land Rover Defender includes a 10-inch touchscreen with Connected Navigation Pro and a 12.3-inch high-definition Interactive Driver Display which can be personalised to include a full-screen map, phone and media functionality. It also comes with an optional Meridian Surround Sound System (700 W), which includes 14 speakers and a dual channel subwoofer, heated and cooled seats and premium cabin lighting.
Land Rover Defender is offered with nearly 170 individual accessories and four distinct Accessory packs namely Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban. Under the hood, it has a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which develops a top power of 296bhp and peak torque of 400Nm. It comes with a 4x4 drive system as standard.
