Hyundai Announces Winners of 2021 Art for Hope Program

The 2021 Art for Hope program promotes the 25 artists from diverse fields of art and craft

The CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd - Hyundai Motor India Foundation(HMIS) announced the names of 25 artists that have been shortlisted under the 2021 Art for Hope Program. Having said this, each winner will be awarded a sum of Rs 1 lakh which will further be used for commissioning community art projects that bear themes of Hope, Solidarity, and Gratitude. Talking about these 25 artists in detail, they all belong to diverse fields like Performance Arts, Digital Art, Visual Arts, Crafts, and Multidisciplinary Art. A total of 163 applications have been received from a total of 17 states in 5 categories. Out of these, 50 artists were selected. Furthermore, after three rounds of evaluation, 25 winners were shortlisted.

Inspired by Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, the Art for Hope program aims to showcase India’s rich heritage in art, craft, and culture and help elevate the lives of artisans and craftspeople who were affected by the pandemic. Talking about the Art for Hope program, it was basically conceptualized to promote art as an agent of change that inspires positivity, happiness, and documents the journey of ‘progress for humanity’. The shortlisted artists were given an opportunity to exchange ideas besides executing art projects. The winners’ art pieces and performances will be displayed for community viewing across the country. Basically, it will be a testament to India’s rich and storied heritage of arts, crafts, and culture.
