Last week, we brought you the first images of the 7-seater Hyundai Creta and now we have the complete details of the new SUV's exterior styling. The company had launched the new-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 on March 16, 2020 in the Indian market. Now, the rear image of the 7-seater SUV has emerged online which indicates that it will have a refreshed profile. It is currently in the testing phase and can be expected to launch in the Indian market in the second half of 2021 while it takes on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus and Tata Gravitas.
The 7-seater Hyundai Creta will share several elements with the standard version of the SUV. Though, there will be a handful of structural dissimilarities as well, the most prominent being the new tailgate design as visible in the spy image. It appears to be more traditional than the outlandish styling of the 5-seater version. The conventional layout, complimented by the huge tail-lamp cluster, makes the 7-seater model appear broader. It is not yet confirmed if the model will carry forward the reflective strip in the centre from the 5-seater standard Creta. In fact, the tail-gate has been designed to look more upright so that the third row occupants have enough space. The roof design, as explained in the previous article too, is flat which is inspired from Hyundai's huge Palisade SUV.
The cabin details are not known yet but we expect the 7-seater Creta to come with similar upholstery and equipments as the standard model. Though, due to the inclusion of third row, the boot capacity will be a tad lower than the 5-seater version. Mechanically, it is also believed to carry the same BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines as the standard model. The transmission options would be identical as well. Hyundai Creta 7-seater price can be expected to start from Rs 12 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while it will enter production at the company's Chennai manufacturing unit by late 2020. Though, the Indian buyers might miss the presence of an all-wheel-drive system in the new SUV.
