Hyundai Creta Emerges as Highest Sold SUV of 2021 in India

Hyundai Creta has emerged as the best-selling SUV in 2021 in the Indian market. It registered a sale of around 1.25 Lakh units in the country. In addition, Hyundai sold the highest number of SUVs in India for the second consecutive year. The company retailed 252,586 SUVs in 2021 out of which Venue contributed upto a huge extent with sales of over 1.08 lakh units. The South-Korean automaker has been able to sell over 8.34 Lakh SUVs in the last five years in the domestic market which is way higher than any other auto brand.


The second-gen Hyundai Creta was launched in March 2020 and till date over 2.15 Lakh units of the SUV has been sold in India. It debuted nearly 6 years back in 2015 and the cumulative sales figures of the SUV till date stand at 6 Lakh+ units. Speaking of Hyundai Venue, it was launched in May 2019 and the brand has delivered more than 2.60 Lakh units of the SUV in the country. Last but not the least, Hyundai Alcazar which was introduced last year in June saw a decent sales of over 17,700 units in India. Commenting on the SUV leadership position, Mr. Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “Our passion and commitment to deliver the most exclusive products for customers has led to Hyundai becoming India’s most preferred SUV brand for two years in succession."
