The top-spec diesel automatic is priced at ₹12.61 lakh.

Hyundai’s New Verna is priced from ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes up to ₹12.61 lakh for the top-spec diesel-automatic. The car is currently on sale with the existing 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines, and is available in four variants.

The 1.6-litre petrol puts out 123hp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre diesel produces 128hp and 260Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission but you have the option of a six-speed automatic on offer. The company may introduce a 1.4-litre diesel unit in the future.

The car is built on the company’s K2 platform, which the company claims is more rigid, offers better NVH levels, and crashworthiness and overall stiffness are improved too.

The car also features a retuned suspension and steering setup, which are a huge improvement on the older car. The Verna has a longer wheelbase and rear headroom has also increased. Boot space and fuel tank capacity are up to 480 litres and 45 litres, respectively.

The Verna Offers cooled and ventilated front seats as well, which is a first for this segment.
