The carmaker says the car can cover 384km and may come to India in 2018.

The production version of the new Kona electric SUV will launch at next year’s 2018 Geneva motor show in March.

The carmaker is currently targeting a range of 384km for the Kona EV. The carmaker’s current all-electric Car, the Ioniq is fitted with a 28kWh battery developing 120hp and can cover a claimed distance of 280km.

The carmaker is planning to launch 30 new models by 2020 and it may consider bringing the electric SUV to India in 2018. It is unlikely, however, that the standard Kona SUV, powered by petrol and diesel engines, will make its way to India.
