The mid-cycle facelift for Hyundai India's flagship SUV – the Tucson – will not only be on display at the 2020 Auto Expo, it will also be announced by the Korean brand. This progress has been confirmed by Hyundai India MD Seon Seob Kim.
The new Tucson will also feature mechanical improvements in the form of BS6-compliant versions of the current model's 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines, along with styling upgrades outside and in – which bring the SUV into line with the latest design language of Hyundai.
Nevertheless, it is expected that the same 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options will be available. As with the current Tucson, in the range-topping diesel-automatic variant, the refreshed model is likely to come with an AWD option.
More equipment will also be available for the Hyundai Tucson facelift than the outgoing model; a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the brand's BlueLink connectivity suite, a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control are expected to be available, at least in the top-spec variants.
Since the current Hyundai Tucson is priced for the petrol versions between Rs 18.77-23.74 lakh and Rs 20.80 - 26.97 lakh for the diesel models, the facelift prices will be higher because of all the updates. Expect a price tag, depending on the model, between Rs 20-30 lakh (ex-showroom).
