Hyundai Venue AMT Launched in India

Being termed as intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), the first-in-segment technology comes with a 2-pedal system.

Hyundai India has launched the Venue AMT in the country. Being termed as intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), the first-in-segment technology comes with a 2-pedal system that eliminates the need for drivers to constantly use the clutch pedal as in a traditional manual gearbox setup. The iMT technology features a Transmission Gear Shift (TGS) Lever with Intention Sensor, Hydraulic Actuator and Transmission Control Unit (TCU). For those asking, Hyundai Venue is India's first connected SUV which was launched nearly a year back in 2019.

The iMT technology has been introduced with the BS6 compliant Kappa 1.0L T-GDi petrol engine with 6-speed manual transmission. Recently, the SUV had crossed the sales milestone of 1 Lakh units in the country. Being spearheaded by the 1.0L turbocharged Kappa petrol engine which accounted for more than 44 percent of the overall sales, it achieved this landmark in less than a year of its launch in the Indian market. Though, the company has not disclosed the price of AMT/iMT variants officially yet but we expected it to do so in the coming days. Hyundai Venue is placed in the sub-compact SUV segment which comprises of several heavyweights such as Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.
