The launch of Venue sub-4 meter compact SUV today will mark the entry of Hyundai in the segment in India. Although the details of the SUV have already been revealed by the company when it was previewed for the media, the prices will only be announced at the time of the launch of the SUV. However, the internet has been abuzz with the leak of the prices of the Venue SUV even before its launch. There are photos on the internet suggesting that the Hyundai Venue’s top model will come at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 10.43 lakhs. Apart from the top diesel model the SX (0) Turbo Petrol variant is priced at Rs. 10.09 lakhs whereas the SX Turbo DCT petrol automatic variant is priced at Rs. 10.66 lakhs.
This leak indicated that the prices of the upcoming Hyundai Venue are going to be on the higher side in the segment. Although it should not come as a surprise as not only is the SUV the most loaded one on features aspect in the segment, Hyundai has been doing the same since long. The South Korean company prices the product on the higher side of the segment and stuffs the car with features to the brim.
Till now, Mahindra XUV300 ruled the segment when it came to features. However, now it seems that the reign of the newly launched Mahindra SUV will be cut short as the Venue will come loaded with features and many of its features are first in segment. Venue comes with looks that make it look like a smaller version of Creta, but the SUV also has its own distinct identity with a waterfall front grille finished in chrome and futuristic design of the headlamps and LED DRLs at the front.
As far as the mechanicals of the upcoming Venue are concerned, the South Korean maker is offering a new 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine rated to deliver 120 PS and 175 Nm, this engine has been developed by the company in-house. This new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. As far as the other engines are concerned, there are two more options with the first one being a 1.2L petrol rated for 82 PS and 114 Nm and mate to 5 speed manual gearbox. The second one is a 1.4L turbo diesel engine rated for 90 PS and 220 Nm and mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
The brand had already stated that the connected feature of the SUV will arm it with 33 features out of which 10 are India specific. The BlueLink technology in the Venue offers remote start, headlamp control, AC, windows and horn control. Other features include emergency assist, real time traffic alert, remote car immobilizer, car tracker, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from the interiors, there are a lot of safety features present in the newly revealed Hyundai Venue. These features include ABS, 6 airbags, vehicle stablity control, hill hold, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. As far as the comfort features are concerned, Hyundai has left no stone unturned here as well with the Venue getting electric sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charging, voice recognition, Arkamys stereo system, rear AC vents, and cornering lamps among other.
