Talking about the maker’s expectations from the model, the marketing head of the brand, Puneet Anand  said,

Well, the 1-litre is a very aspirational product. It will be one of the top-end products from our platform, and the way I look at the adoption of technologies from the people, I am sure somewhere about more than 40 percent of the overall (Venue) portfolio will be taken up by the 1-litre engine, because it’s a very unique segment. We are a very evolving company. Yes, the 1-litre is a first product from Hyundai. Once we understand the customers’ desires, why not strap it in other products also? We have very strong products like the i20 and Grand i10 and we’ll be bringing such engines in higher-end models too.

As far as the mechanicals of the upcoming Venue’s turbo model are concerned, the South Korean maker is offering a new 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine rated to deliver 120 PS and 175 Nm, this engine has been developed by the company in-house. This new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. Apart from the turbo petrol engine, the Venue also comes with the option of a diesel engine and a naturally aspirated petrol engine. Hyundai Venue is the latest entrant in the sub-4 meter SUV segment and will try to challenge the established SUVs here with its features and attractive pricing. There were also reports that the South Korean maker is trying to bring the same engine to its other models as well. There are hopes that the Elite i20 and Verna will come with the same engine in the time to come.
