Iveco Bus to Deliver 153 Electric Buses to ATM in Milan

Iveco Bus has achieved a major milestone by playing a key role in the city’s conversion to sustainable mobility.

Iveco Bus is a brand division of the Iveco Group. It is an urban, tourist, and intercity brand of the famous Iveco Group. It has recently signed a contract to export 153 brand-new electric buses to a public transport company called Azienda Trasporti Milanesi (ATM) in Milan. The brand has achieved a major milestone by playing a key role in the city’s conversion to sustainable mobility.

Azienda Trasporti Milanesi is aiming to change its complete urban fleet to 1,200 buses and make a necessary transformation in the surrounding ecosystem. The new tender for the transport company includes 153 new 12-metre e-buses. Under the contract, the company will also get complete maintenance service for 10 years. The Iveco Bus brand is likely to deliver the new buses by the first half of 2025, while the remaining electric buses will be exported by June 2026.

The contract is worth 120 million euros, and it is part of Azienda Trasporti Milanesi’s strategic plan to provide accessible and sustainable mobility. ATM will renovate the depots and create new facilities that will be completely incorporated into the city's layout. The transport company is taking a crucial step by including the new Iveco electric buses in its urban fleet. Under the full electric strategy of the company, half of the Milan buses will be replaced with electric vehicles by 2026.

The President (Bus Business Unit) at Iveco Group, Domenico Nucera, stated that "We are proud to play an important role in Milan’s journey towards more sustainable mobility. The competitive total cost of ownership offering of IVECO BUS, combined with our close proximity to ATM, allows us to provide a tailored solution that meets the specific needs of this fast-paced city."
