Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their wedding reception in an E-type special, the Zero – a one-off, all-electric concept from Jaguar's Classic division.
The E-type Zero is a restored Series 1.5 Roadster and is identical to the original in its specifications. It gets LED headlights as well as redone instruments and fascia though. The car’s electric powertrain makes 220kW (299hp) and was designed specifically for the E-type Zero. This version is quicker than the original E-type – it can hit 100kph in a claimed 5.5sec, which is about a second quicker than a Series 1.
The car’s structure, including the suspension and brakes, haven't been changed. Jaguar says the E-type Zero shares some technology and components with the I-Pace, which is the company’s first production EV. The E-type Zero has a ‘real world’ range of 270km. Prince Harry drove it for 3km from Windsor Castle to Frogmore House.
