The company will extend the Alexa feature to all the existing I-PACE owners too

Jaguar I-PACE has received a couple of updates in the form of a premium Black Pack and Amazon Alexa. The company will extend the Alexa feature to all the existing I-PACE owners too through a software-over-the-air update. Jaguar I-PACE has become the first company model to get the Amazon Alexa voice control. The company has said that it will introduce the Amazon Alexa feature to all the new models in its portfolio which come with Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system. The India-spec Jaguar I-PACE is also expected to receive this update soon.

Speaking of Black Pack, it adds gloss black finish to the front grille, grille surround, side window surrounds, door mirror caps and rear badges. In addition, it comes with 22-inch ‘Style 5056’ split-spoke wheels finished in Gloss Black, a rear spoiler and air suspension. For the first time, Jaguar I-PACE will be available in Ostuni White color. Alex Heslop, Director of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “The seamless integration of Amazon Alexa with our Pivi Pro infotainment system gives customers simple, intuitive voice control of regularly used features, making the driving experience even more enjoyable. The fact we can also offer this new feature to existing customers proves the value of our software-over-the-air-updates.”

The Alexa integration will allow customers to avail a plethora of features via the Pivi Pro infotainment system in the form of navigation, media playback, phone calls and control compatible smart home devices. Requests such as ‘Alexa, navigate me to home’, ‘Alexa, play my chill-out playlist’, ‘Alexa show me nearby coffee shops’ and ‘Alexa, set the living room temperature to 20 degrees’ can all be done by voice. You can also check the news, the weather and manage your schedule or shopping list – just by asking. Over 55,000 units of Jaguar I-PACE have been sold till date and all these owners will get the Alexa update as they will be notified via a message displayed in their vehicle’s touchscreen.

In addition to all other Jaguar models with Pivi Pro, this functionality is also available to customers in these markets with vehicles equipped with the Touch Pro infotainment system. The Smartphone Pack with wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto is standard with the I-PACE. In addition, Pivi Pro can connect two phones simultaneously, and an optional wireless device charging pad beneath the centre console features a signal booster to improve network reception and Wi-Fi.
