Jeep Compass facelift is expected to be launched on January 23, 2021 in the Indian market
The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will be officially unveiled on January 7 next year in India. Following this, it is expected to be launched on January 23 in the Indian market. The SUV made its International debut some time ago. We have even spotted it doing the test runs on multiple occasions. Jeep dealerships in select cities have already started accepting bookings for the facelifted version. As for the production of the SUV, it is expected to commence from January first week at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon outside Pune in Maharashtra.
Cosmetically, the upcoming 2021 Compass facelift will get revised headlamps integrated with LED DRLs. There will also be an updated seven-slat grille with honeycomb-like inserts, a new bumper with a tweaked faux skid plate, and a large air-dam with new fog lamp housings. No major changes have been made to the rear end of the SUV. Besides these, the SUV will be seen riding on a new set of alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin of the SUV, we get to see a major change in the form of a restyled dashboard with a new floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new AC vents and HVAC controls are positioned below it. Talking about the dashboard, it features double-stitched leather inserts and brushed aluminium-like trim. The infotainment unit, on the other hand, is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and FCA’s UConnect 5 Technology. Other highlighted features include a new three-spoke steering wheel, LED ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a large digital instrument cluster.
Performance-wise, the Compass facelift will retain the engine options from the outgoing model. This means it will come with the same 2.0-litre multi-jet diesel unit generating 170 bhp power and 350 Nm torque and a 1.4-litre multiair petrol engine producing 160 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. Both the engines get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol variant gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as an option while the diesel variant will get a 9-speed torque-converter automatic as an option. Once launched, the Compass facelift will be competing with the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and Skoda Karoq.
