Kia Carens Mass Production Starts at Anantapur Plant

Kia India has started the mass production of the upcoming Carens MPV at its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. Recently, the first unit of Kia Carens was rolled out from the manufacturing facility. It is expected to launch in the next couple of weeks in the Indian market. The bookings for the three-row MPV started on January 14, 2022 at a token payment of Rs 25,000. The Carens, being the brand's latest 'Made-in-India' offering, can be booked online as well as at Kia dealerships while it will be exported to over 80 countries.


Kia Carens had its world premiere in December last year in India. It will come in both petrol and diesel powertrains combined with multiple transmission options, including the 7-speed DCT automatic and 6-speed torque converter automatic units. The MPV will come equipped with a host of features such as the next-generation Kia Connect app with 66 connected features, flexible seating options, features such as the Sliding Type Seat Under Tray, Retractable Seatback Table, the Rear Door Spot Lamp, and the Bottle and Gadget Holder in the third row. In addition, it also gets the Robust 10 Hi-Safety package as standard across all trims which includes 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, VSM, Hill Assist, DBC etc. to name a few.
