Kia Carens MPV Bookings Start at Rs 25,000

Kia Carens will be locally developed at the brand's manufacturing facility at Anantapur

Kia India has officially commenced the pre-bookings for the upcoming Carens MPV from today in the country. The 3-row MPV can be booked through Kia India website and dealerships across India at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Kia Carens will be locally developed at the brand's manufacturing facility at Anantapur while exported to 90 countries, including both right- and left-hand drive markets. Having made its world premiere on December 16, 2021, the Caerns MPV will be launched by March 2022 in the Indian market.


Kia Carens would be introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims across five grades namely Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus. It will have the longest wheelbase in the entire segment. The features onboard will include BOSE Premium Sound System with 8 speakers, Smart Pure Air Purifier with Virus and Bacteria protection, Ventilated front seats, 2nd Row Seat “One Touch Easy Electric Tumble”, SkyLight Sunroof and 10.25-inch HD Touchscreen Infotainment System with Navigation & Next Generation Kia Connect. The Kia Connect comes with 66 Connected Car features. All the variants of Kia Carens will get 6-airbags as standard safety feature while ESC & VSM will be offered in top-end variants.

Kia Carens will share powertrain-transmission options with the Seltos SUV. It will get the same 1.5L naturally aspirated Smartstream petrol, 1.5L turbocharged CRDi VGT diesel and the 1.4L turbocharged T-GDi Smartstream petrol engines while the transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed DCT automatic unit. Kia Carens will be offered in both 6- and 7-seater configurations. It will rival MG Hector Plus, Maruti XL6, and Tata Safari in the Indian market. Being Kia's fourth product in India after Seltos, Carnival and Sonet, Kia Carens price is expected to start around Rs 11-12 Lakhs with the range-topping variant costing nearly Rs 17-18 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
