Kia Motors has launched its luxury MPV, Kia Carnival today at the Auto Expo 2020. The Korean carmaker has introduced three variants namely Premium, Prestige and Limousine. Competing with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavor, Mahindra Alturas G4, and Toyota Innova Touring Sport, this luxury MPV is priced between Rs 24.95-33.95 Lakhs (ex-showroom) India.
In terms of cosmetic updates, the Premium variant offers a plethora of features. These include the touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers and steering audio controls. Other highlighted features include a rear-view camera, cruise control, 3.5-inch cluster LCD panel, telescopic steering, electrically adjustable outside mirror, and auto headlight control. It comes with advanced safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISO FIX, rear parking sensors along with front and rear end discs. On the exterior front, this variant offers chrome outside door handles, rear spoiler with LED and a rear chrome garnish.
The Prestige variant comes with a host of updated features. These include a dual-panel sunroof, interior LED lights, sunshade curtains, electric folding outside mirror with chrome inside the door handles. To provide comfort, they offer pop up sinking and sliding seats. Other highlighted features inside the cabin include a 220V laptop and a USB charger. This variant offers safety elements like curtain airbags, front parking sensors, roll-over mitigation along with cornering brake control. It also has electronic stability control with hill assist control. The exterior gets LED projector headlamps, Ice cube-shaped LED fog lights, smart power tailgate, UV cut front door glass and windshield.
The top-spec Limousine variant comes with 18-inch sputtering finish alloy wheels, high line tyre pressure monitoring system and leather-wrapped steering wheel & gear knob. The cabin comes with a 2nd-row luxury VIP seats with leg-support and premium Nappa leather upholstery while a plethora of new features have been offered in the form of an advanced infotainment system with navigation and UVO connected car technology lifted from Seltos. The MPV also gets electronic parking brake, 10-way power adjustable driver seat, front console wireless smartphone charger, and Auto Antiglare Inside Rear View Mirror (ECM) with UVO Controls & Smartwatch connectivity.
Under the hood, the Kia Carnival is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.2-liter VGT diesel engine that delivers 197 bhp max power output and 440 Nm of peak torque.
