Kia had made subtle changes to the 2024 Sonet, including a new front fascia with updated grille, redesigned bumpers, LED headlight and DRL setup, LED taillights, and an integrated LED light bar at the back. The company is offering three designs of alloy wheels to pick from.
Kia is offering a host of safety features in the Sonet Facelift, such as front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The facelift comes equipped with Level 1 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and lane-keep assist. The Kia Sonet SUV comes in seven variants powered by both diesel and petrol powertrains. All these variants come with six combinations of transmission and engine units. The HTE variant will not get LED headlights; instead, it will come with halogen units. Instead of 16-inch alloys, it will get 15-inch steel wheels.
The Kia Sonet SUV will be available in several color options, including eight single-tone color schemes and two double-tone hues. The matte shade is specifically designed for the X line. The monotone color choices include White, Olive, Grey, Silver, Red, Black, Clear White, and Blue, whereas the double-tone hues are white and red with a black roof. Kia Sonet will get features like a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, 70+ connected car tech features, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and a sunroof.
The automaker has retained the same powertrain options with the updated Sonet. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit churns out 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque; it comes mated to a 7-speed DCT or 6-speed iMT. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 115 Nm. This unit is paired with a 5-speed MT gearbox. Lastly, the 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out 114 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed MT (new), 6-speed iMT, and 6-speed AT.
The SUV is likely to be available at an initial price of INR 8 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The Sonet will give tough competition to the likes of Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Maruti Fronx crossover, Nissan Magnite, and the Hyundai Venue.
