The Korean carmaker kicked off its dealer roadshows with an event held recently in Delhi for prospective partners. The road show will now go to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata over the next 30 days.
Prospective dealers can gather knowledge about the company, its business plans for India, and have access to its range of international models. Kia is using this event to get feedback from the ground about our market from existing automobile dealers.
The company has stated that the Indian car market is extremely important to them and Kia is aiming to be a key player. They also added that, despite being owned by Hyundai, Kia will be an independent brand. Company officials were hush about the cars to be launched here first, but they did say it would begin with an SUV and a sedan.
A production facility is in the works and construction looks set to begin in Q4 this year. The first Kias will roll off the lines in the second half of 2019.
