Kia India has officially unveiled the updated Kia Sonet Facelift in the Indian market. The manufacturer revealed the much-awaited facelift at an event held in Delhi on December 14, 2023. Kia India will launch the updated Sonet facelift in the Indian market in 2024. The bookings for the facelift will commence on December 20, 2023. The latest Kia Sonet comes with significant exterior updates, cosmetic enhancements, improved dynamics, and enhanced safety measures. The SUV gets Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Keep Assist.
The Kia Sonet Facelift will give tough competition to the likes of Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Brezza; both of these models were updated last year. The Sonet is among the most famous models offered by the manufacturer. This is the Korean automaker's third model available in the Indian market. Kia launched the Seltos in 2019 and the Carnival MPV in 2020.
The new Sonet comes with the same Kia signature Tiger Nose grille. However, the design and DRL placement have been tweaked slightly. It comes with new headlight units, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a front bumper. The Sonet becomes the first facelift for the sub-4 metre SUV to get revamped exterior styling.
The 2024 Sonet comes in eight single-tone color schemes and two double-tone hues. The matte shade is specially designed for the X line. The monotone color options include White, Olive, Grey, Silver, Red, Black, Clear White, and Blue. The double-tone hues are in White and Red color with Black roof.

The Sonet SUV comes equipped with significant features like a 10.25-inch LCD driver display unit and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. The SUV gets a smart air purification system, a 360-degree camera, a seven-speaker Bose sound system, a Kia Connect Skill along with Amazon Alexa, and an electric sunroof.
The seat pattern and cabin paint will be different for each Sonet trim. The GT Line now comes with black leatherette seats along with white inserts and black interiors. The X Line comes with an all-black interior and Sage Green Leatherette seats. The Tech Line sports brown and black leatherette seats. Kia has not made any changes in the overall dimensions or cabin space of the SUV.
Under the hood, the Kia Sonet Facelift continues to be powered by a diesel motor and has two petrol unit options. The 1.2-litre petrol motor churns out power of 81 bhp and peak torque of 115 Nm. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor churns out power of 118 bhp and peak torque of 172 Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre CRDi diesel unit produces 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The SUV will come with the same 5-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed AT transmission, 6-speed manual gearbox, 7-speed DCT unit, and 6-speed iMT.
