South Korean carmaker Kia has managed to build up momentum around their first launch -- Seltos SUV – in the Indian market as it recently unveiled the car in India. Now the bookings of the SUV have also started in official capacity as the brand prepares to launch the Seltos in Indian market. The South Korean company recently released a new video commercial for the SUV that features Bollywood star Tiger Shroff who also happens to be the brand ambassador of the car in India.
Upon launch, Kia Seltos will lock horns with Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Jeep Compass in India. The Seltos was first presented in the Indian market and it will be subsequently launched across the world as well because it is a global vehicle. Kia will make the car at its Anantapur plant and will export it across the world.
The South Korean brand is anticipating a good demand from the customers for their first SUV in the Indian market. Talking of the exterior of the SUV first, one will instantly notice the presence of the Tiger nose grille at the front of the SUV. The headlamp setup of the upcoming SUV is again something that has been trending in the car market as of now and we can see that there are sharp headlamps present on the SUV along with a LED DRLs underneath. The fog lamps are placed in the lower part of the bumper. The brand will launch the vehicle in the Indian market with the option of 8 shades and the roof will be a dual tone unit that can also be customised by the customer.
Not just the looks but the Kia Seltos also comes with a bevy of unique features to boast of. Among the most unique feature is the presence of a high-end Bose tuned speaker setup that is also paired with the ambient mood lighting of the cabin. There is also a large 10.25 inch infotainment system present in the cabin that comes with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Another unique feature of the Seltos will be presence of a Head-Up Display unit that will display vital information for the driver.
Coming to the engine and transmission offerings of the SUV, the petrol units will be a 1.5L naturally aspirated unit rated to deliver 113 Bhp and 138 Nm. The next option in the petrol line-up will be a 1.4L turbo petrol unit rated to deliver 138 Bhp and 242 Nm. Moving on to the diesel option, the diesel unit will be a 1.5L turbo unit rated to deliver 113 Bhp and 250 Nm. Among the automatic options, the first automatic gearbox option that will be offered with the 1.5L petrol unit will be CVT automatic unit. The second option will be a 7-speed twin clutch automatic gearbox that will be offered with the 1.4L turbo petrol model. Lastly, the third automatic option will be a 6 speed torque converter automatic unit that will be offered with the diesel engine. The manual gearbox will be standard on all trims.
