A YouTube channel by Abhishek Saini recently spotted a non-camouflaged test mules of the Kia Sonet on a Delhi road ahead of the official launch. The test mule seen in the video is white in colour and has features from both the HTK+ and HTX+ variant. But the absence of LED headlamps and rain wipers suggests that this is an HTK+ variant. Kia Sonet HTK+ is mid-variant in the product line-up. It is positioned between the HTK and HTX variants. This is the only variant that will be offered with all three engine options.

In terms of design, it gets auto headlamps with projector fog lamps and chrome on the radiator grille up front. Furthermore, it also gets power-folding ORVMs, front and rear faux skid plates, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna. The cabin gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, leather-wrapped gear knob, and driver side power windows. As for the safety features, it will get ESC, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, Traction Control and Drive Modes, Automatic Climate Control among others.

Under the hood, the Kia Sonet will be offered with 3 engine options. Its petrol variants will draw power from a 1.2-litre engine that will generate 82 bhp power and 114 Nm torque, linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. There will also be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 118 bhp power and 172 Nm of torque. Transmission options will be a 6-speed IMT gearbox and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox as an option. The diesel variants will be propelled by a 1.5-litre oil mill that will deliver 99 bhp power with 240 Nm torque while being mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The higher trim will get a 6-speed automatic gearbox as an option.
