KTM 250 Adventure test ride to begin soon; already started arriving at the dealerships

Australian Motorcycle Manufacturer, KTM is all set to expand its product portfolio by launching the KTM 250 Adventure anytime soon in the country. The upcoming 250 Adventure motorcycle will be positioned below the Duke 250 in the brand’s line-up. The bike has started arriving at the company’s authorized showrooms in major cities across India. We can expect the test ride for the new motorcycle to begin soon.

In terms of design, the upcoming KTM 250 Adventure is likely to be similar to its elder sibling  KTM 390 Adventure. The bike will get an aggressive look as it is inspired by the rally bikes. Design highlights include a sleek halogen headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, short tail, unswept exhaust among others. Furthermore, the two-wheeler is also likely to feature a TFT instrument cluster instead of an LCD unit as is present in the Duke 250. However, the entry-level motorcycle is likely to miss out on a few elements such as Bluetooth connectivity, off-road ABS, traction control system, cornering ABS ride by wire, and multiple riding modes. We can still expect it to get a switchable ABS.

Mechanically, the upcoming KTM 250 Adventure motorcycle will be powered by the same engine that powers the Duke 250. Thus the bike will get a 249cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 29.6 bhp @9000 rpm and a peak torque of 24 Nm @7500 rpm. The motor is further mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The new KTM 250 Adventure is likely to use the same steel trellis frame as its elder sibling. Suspension duties will be carried out by 43mm WP Apex forks with 170mm of travel upfront and WP Apex mono-shock suspension system with pre-load adjustability towards the rear. In terms of brakes, the new bike will get a 320mm disc upfront and a 230 mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS. Furthermore, it will use MRF Mogrip Meteor FM2 tubeless tyres.

As for the price, we can expect the new KTM 250 Adventure to cost around Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it is likely to compete against the likes of BMW G 310 GS BS6 and Hero Xpulse 200 in its segment.
