KTM, Husqvarna Provide Free Extended Warranty & Road Side Assistance

Both KTM and Husqvarna come to the aid of their customers

With the opening up of the automobile sector post nationwide lockdown, two-wheeler companies are offering lucrative discounts, new schemes and services. Austrian Bike manufacturers KTM and Husqvarna have announced the launch of a new reward program for Indian customers. The reward program is exclusively for customers who have either purchased or are going to buy bikes from KTM or Husqvarna between the 28th of July to 20th September this year. On doing so, the buyers will get benefits like Roadside Assistance and Free Extended Warranty under the rewards program.

Having said this, the biggest benefit of the program is a free 3-year Extended Warranty thus taking the total Warranty to 5 years. Buyers can also avail free Roadside Assistance for a period of 1 year from the bike’s purchase date. This announcement follows on the heels of KTM offering Financial Assistance for the Adventure 390 Model. KTM is offering 80 percent on-road financial support and EMI starting as low as Rs 6,999 per month.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 was launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Both Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 are powered by the same 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine belting out 30 bhp of maximum power @ 9000rpm and 24Nm of peak torque @ 7500rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

In terms of looks, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is a cafe-racer styled motorcycle with low clip-on handlebar and aggressive forward-leaning stance. Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, on the other hand, is a scrambler with dual-purpose tyres and an elongated single-piece handlebar. Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 weighs 154 kgs whereas Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is lighter by 1 Kg and weighs 153 kgs. Svartpilen is painted darker while Vitpilen sports white paint.

Post the lockdown, prices on Husqvarna motorcycles were increased by Rs 4,736. Post the hike, the new sticker price for Husqvarna bikes is now Rs 1.84 Lakhs (ex-showroom), India. Due to lockdown, the production units had to face a temporary closure or work with negligible resources. Post lockdown, there is a waiting period of up to 3 months for the Husqvarna and KTM range of motorcycles. KTM and Husqvarna motorcycle resumed production as per the government norms.

Husqvarna was scheduled to launch Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401 motorcycles during April this year but COVID-19 delayed their plans till 2021 first quarter.
