The company has stated that it will be the most high-tech Defender yet.

The car will go on sale in two versions with different wheelbases - 2,286mm and 2,794mm. It will also be available in two distinct body styles – hardtop and soft-top. Codenamed L663, the car is based on a toughened-up version of the D7u platform that underpins the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery Models.

There will be a range of petrol and diesel Ingenium engines on offer. The new car will be loaded with tech, which will include an updated suite of off-road technology based on the Terrain Response II system.

Land Rover says the car will offer class-leading off-road performance and agility.
