These updates will be standard from the W6 variant and onwards.

Mahindra has updated the infotainment system in its Mahindra XUV500. These features will be standard from the W6 variant onwards. The W6 variant with these updated features is priced at ₹13.8 lakh.

The new infotainment system consists of various features such as Android Auto, built-in apps such as Gaana, Cricket Live, Zomato and BookMyShow along with other India-specific entertainment, sports and information on the best restaurants. These apps need not be present on your smartphone and will need an internet connection to function. A new emergency feature allows the car to send an automated call to emergency services and also send a text alert to two preselected numbers via a paired mobile phone when the airbags in the car are deployed.

There is also an entire system in place to promote greener driving with the help of a feature called Ecosense. Each ride will be scored and rated based on factors such as speed, acceleration, idling, gear selection and braking, and there are eco-driving tips too. This technology will help optimise fuel consumption and curtail CO2 emissions. All of this data can be accessed through the infotainment system and through Mahindra’s Bluesense app and ‘With You Hamesha’ web portal.

Other mechanicals of the car remain unchanged, though Mahindra has also introduced a Lake-Side Brown colour option with premium black interiors for the W10 variant.
