India could get slightly modified versions of the upcoming Husqvarna 401 models.

The Husqvarna brand will be in India next year. The Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 will be the first two bikes to make it here. A customer clinic was held recently in Pune for existing KTM owners, where they could test ride both bikes and get a feel of what they’re like.

A Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 prototype was seen testing around Pune recently. Husqvarna previously announced that production of the 401s will shift to India by late 2018 (for export). The test mule spotted was probably a made-in-India prototype undergoing testing for quality and other parameters.

Both the bikes could be sold alongside the KTMs and will carry a premium of around Rs 20,000-30,000 over the KTM 390 Duke.
