Indian SUV giant Mahindra will be launching their flagship SUV, the Alturas on November 24. The Mahindra Alturas is based on the SsangYong Rexton and it was first showcased at the Auto Expo. The Alturas will be available in two trims – the G2 and G4.
The Mahindra Alturas will come equipped with features like ventilated seats, 8-way powered driver seat with memory function, dual zone climate control, 3D 360-degree camera, 9 airbags, active roll-over protection and many more. The car will also get a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Powering the Alturas will be a 2.2-litre diesel unit that churns out 178 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. The engine on this SUV will be mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox that has been sourced from Mercedes. The car will also be available in a 4WD variant. Mahindra is expected to price the car around Rs. 28 lakhs and when launched it will take on the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu MU-X.
With a revised roof rail design, Tata Motors aims to give tough competition to rivals like Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
