It is the new entry-level variant in BS6 Mahindra Bolero range

Mahindra & Mahindra has silently launched the Bolero B2 at a sticker price of Rs 7.64 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. Being the entry-level variant in the Bolero range, it is nearly Rs 36,000 cheaper than the mid-spec B4 variant. So, with the addition of this new B2 variant, Mahindra Bolero lineup now comes with a total of four variants: B2, B4, B6, and B6(O). Mahindra Bolero BS6 major sales are driven by rural markets and Tier 3 cities. It has no direct rival in the Indian market as of now.

Speaking of Mahindra Bolero B2, it comes only with basic features such as power steering, manual AC, and driver side airbag. Though, the company hasn't released the official feature and spec list of the new base variant yet but we expect Mahindra to include at least Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Rear Parking Sensor as standard. It might miss out on some of the premium features such as power windows, rear wiper and remote locking that are available with the high-end variants of the SUV line-up. Mahindra Bolero has been one of the constant best-sellers for the home-grown automaker with average monthly sales figures around 3000-5000 units. The SUV was firstly launched nearly two decades back in 2000.

Mechanically, Mahindra Bolero is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5L diesel engine which generates maximum power output of 74bhp and peak torque performance of 210Nm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission with power being transmitted to the rear wheels. Recently, Mahindra XUV500 BS6 automatic was launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 15.65 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Though, the XUV500 AT has been on sale previously but the company had pulled the plug when the BS6 emission norms kicked in on April 1, 2020. And hence, it was reintroduced nearly five months later with BS6 updates. Stay tuned to this page for more updates regarding the same!
