Mahindra has updated their Bolero Camper range and launched the vehicle with more creature comfort features. Bolero Camper range come in with a starting price of Rs. 7.26 lakh. The vehicle now comes in 5 different variants with the Gold ZX being the top end model. The other variants of Camper range are Gold VX, 4WD, Non-AC and Cash Van variants. The top model also now has a bumped load bearing capacity of 1,000 kgs for carrying passengers as well as cargo.
Talking on the occasion of launch of the Bolero Camper range the chief of sales and marketing of the automotive division at Mahindra & Mahindra, Veejay Ram Nakra, stated,

We always strive to understand and address the evolving needs of our customers, thereby developing innovative and relevant products. True to its belief ‘Khaas logon ki khaas gaadi’, the Camper Refresh Gold ZX enhances the customer’s value within the business environment. Our Bolero brand continues to retain the basic tough and rugged DNA associated with Mahindra vehicles”.
The Camper range is the double cabin pick-up truck range of Bolero that has been designed by the Indian UV maker for handling rougher tasks while carrying passengers as well. Coming down to the changes that one sees on the new updated models of Camper range in the market, one finds that the grille of the vehicle has been refreshed. Apart from the grille new body graphics as well as reflector headlamps have been added that lend the vehicle a fresher design. The changes are not too major in nature and the overall look of the range still remains the same.
Moving on to the interiors, the seats have been updated with comfort in mind and now come with headrest, slider, and recline functions. Apart from this the seats are also now wrapped in faux leather with the interior gaining a dual tone finish. Other feature additions found in the interior of the range includes power windows, power steering, central locking, and a new HVAC system. The safety also gets a minor boost with retractable seatbelt. The addition of AC will be a major thing that may boost the prospective customer numbers for the brand.
Talking of the mechanicals of the Bolero Camper range, the power is generated by a 2.5L diesel engine rated to deliver 63 HP and 195 Nm. The transmission duties are handled by a 5 speed manual unit and Camper comes with an ARAI mileage rating of 15.1 kmpl. However, the engine of the Camper is still a BS-IV unit. Apart from the changes, Mahindra is also offering a standard 3 years/1 lakh kilometre warranty and 1 year 24x7 roadside assistance with the Camper range.
