Mahindra unveiled its new electric SUV range including models like XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, Thar.e, Scorpio.e, and Bolero.e at the 'Futurescape' event in Cape Town. Alongside showcasing the Global Pik Up and Thar.e concepts, Mahindra also disclosed launch timelines, powertrain specifics, and a new 'infinity' logo for this electric SUV lineup.

Mahindra's new electric SUV range will feature XUV e8 and e9 models with motors sourced from Valeo, while BE 05 and BE 07 models will use motors from Volkswagen. While the general information about the INGLO platform was disclosed a year ago, Mahindra now provided detailed specifications about the electric motors. Initial batteries and motors will be sourced from BYD and Valeo due to extended development lead times, with later models getting them from Volkswagen.

Three distinct motors were unveiled for the upcoming models. XUV.e models will use a rear-axle motor from Valeo, providing 170kW (231hp) and 380 Nm. More potent motors for BE 05 and BE 07 models, sourced from Volkswagen, will offer 210kW (286hp) and 535 Nm for 2WD models, while 4WD variants will have an additional front axle motor with 80kW (109hp) and 135 Nm.

The battery pack was also discussed, boasting up to 79kWh capacity using LFP cells, offering advantages in energy density, discharge rate, lack of thermal propagation, and 0-80 percent charging in 30 minutes.

Mahindra's electric SUVs will feature AR Rahman-designed sounds, Harman/Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos, 3D surround sound, and active noise cancellation. Infotainment will include three 12.3-inch screens, and the branding will shift to INGLO with EV-specific menus. Features will encompass 5G connectivity, OTA updates, Vehicle-to-X (V2X) capabilities, and Level 2 Autonomous driving with

ADAS using cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors.

Launch Date Mahindra Electric SUV:

The launch timeline for Mahindra's electric SUVs includes the XUV e8 in December 2024, followed by the XUV e9 in April 2025. The BE 05 and BE Rall.e will launch in October 2025, and the BE 07's launch might be advanced to April 2026. Electrification plans also encompass the Thar.e, Scorpio.e, and Bolero.e models using the INGLO platform, but no specific launch dates were mentioned.
