Mahindra has filed a new trademark application in the country for the Scorpio X nameplate, hinting that the automaker could use this name for an upcoming model. It is anticipated that this could be the Global Pik Up concept. Mahindra unveiled the production-ready Pik Up prototype last year, and it shares its underpinnings with the Scorpio N SUV.

The pik-up trucks offered by Mahindra are quite famous across both international and domestic markets. Recently, the company filed trademarks for Scorpio M, Scorpio K, Scorpio Z, and Scorpio Z. However, only the trademark for the Scorpio X nameplate has been accepted. Registering a new trademark for the moniker Scorpio X sparks speculation that the auto giant could launch the pick-up in India sometime in 2025. The Global Pik Up concept was first unveiled last year in South Africa. The test mule of the truck was spotted with the same design elements that are seen in the Scorpio-N, while the taillights equipped in the Pik Up remind of the new-generation Scorpio.

The production-spec Pik Up truck is expected to be named Scorpio X, and it is likely to come with a new-generation mHawk diesel engine. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic and manual transmissions. The Global Pik Up could also get a 4WD system. The company has not confirmed the launch date for the upcoming model yet.

The new Mahindra Pik Up concept that was spotted last year featured a black-out grille, LED light bar, prominent bumper, and winches at the front and back. On the side profile, it gets sporty alloy wheels, a snorkel, roof rails, and side steps. The Scorpio X is expected to come with a range of premium features, including a large touchscreen and digital instrument console, driver drowsiness detection, wireless charging, 5G connectivity, level-2 ADAS, front and side curtain airbags, and trailer sway mitigation.
