Tata Motors Rolls Out Altroz Racer Hatchback in India; Prices Start at INR 9.49 Lakh

Bookings for the new Altroz Racer sporty hatchback are currently open for a token amount of INR 21,000.

Tata Motors India has officially launched the new Altroz Racer premium hatchback in the Indian market. The hatchback is available at a starting price of INR 9.49 lakh, and it goes up to INR 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top model. The Tata Altroz Racer is a sportier version of the brand’s premium Altroz turbo-petrol model. It comes with a range of aesthetic and feature upgrades. Bookings for the new hatchback are currently open for a token amount of INR 21,000. The auto giant has also added new features to some variants of the outgoing Altroz. Notably, the Racer has replaced the i-Turbo variant in the brand’s lineup.

Tata Motors is offering the Altroz Racer in three trims: R1, R2, and R3. The Altroz Racer R1 trim is priced at INR 9.49 lakh, whereas the R2 is available at a price of INR 10.49 lakh. On the other hand, the R3 version comes at a price of INR 10.99 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Visually, the hatchback gets aesthetic upgrades like a dual tone finish, where the bonnet and roof are colored black. The Altroz Racer has dual-white stripes running across the roof, bonnet, and boot. On the fender, the hatchback has a ‘Racer’ badge.

The new premium Altroz Racer is being offered in three dual-tone colors: Atomic Orange, Pure Grey, and Avenue White. The hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is also equipped in the Tata Nexon. The engine churns out power of 118 bhp at 5,500 rpm and peak torque of 170 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Inside the cabin, the Tata Altroz Racer gets an all-black interior consisting of black dashboard panels, ambient lighting, black seats, and orange and white stripes accenting around the gear console and air-con vents. The premium hatchback comes equipped with a 10.24-inch infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital instrument display. The model packs a range of other features, like an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, a digital instrument console, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, and more. The Tata Altroz Racer will give tough competition to the Hyundai i20 N Line.
