The reworked version of the Thar will be sold as a power sports offering in the USA.

Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) has shown its off-road utility vehicle called the Roxor. The company is targeting the agricultural and utility vehicles market in the USA and will be manufactured in Detroit. Mahindra will also supply the Roxor to the US Federal postal service.

The car looks a lot like the Thar and the Roxor features a steel body on a boxed steel frame. Under the hood sits a 64hp, 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It gets four-wheel drive as standard and top-speed is limited to 72kph. For the first six months, the two-seat Roxor will be sold with a few options to customise it, but everything from the exterior and interior colours will be customisable soon. You can get safari seats, winches, side enclosures and over 900 paint shades.

The company will use a new powersports dealer network to sell the car but for now, there is no word on when the Roxor will launch officially in the US. The SUV is priced at $15,499 (about Rs 10.1 lakh).
