The updated version will feature a new front and will see a 20hp bump in power.

Test mules of Mahindra’s updated SUV were recently spotted in Karnataka. This will be the first time the carmaker updates its venerable Scorpio post the launch of the second-gen model in 2014. The car spied wore camouflage across its nose, front fenders and the tailgate, which point to a revised front fascia and styling tweaks to the rear.

The big news is the uprated engine. The 2.2-litre mHawk motor could make 140hp (up by 20hp) in the facelifted Mahindra. This engine will put out more torque as well. The Scorpio will continue to be sold with the current set of six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.

Mahindra’s more premium XUV500 is also expected to receive a facelift soon – its second since its launch.
