Maruti to introduce the Ertiga with CNG powertrain and it is expected to make debut in 2019.
Maruti launched the second generation of the Ertiga on November 21. The Ertiga is now available only in petrol and diesel powertrain but we expect the manufacturer to bring the Ertiga CNG within few months. The first gen Eritga was available in all three powertrains.
The Ertiga CNG was one of the most successful cars among the commercial fleet drivers and private buyers. The Ertiga CNG will be powered by the same K15B engine and is also expected to come with SHVS technology. The company is fine-tuning the engine with the CNG fuel.
The Ertiga is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine which makes 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque. The power figures of the CNG powertrain will decrease slightly but on the flip side, the car will be more fuel efficient. However, there has been no official statement from the company but we expect the manufacturer will announce the same after channelizing everything.
