Maruti Futuro-e Concept has made its world premiere at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company has been teasing it on social media platforms for quite a while and now it has finally made its first public appearance. The Concept previews a mid-sized SUV with coupe-esque styling which would take on the likes of Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta. It will be launched in the Indian market in the second half of 2021.
Speaking of the Maruti Futuro-e Concept, it has been conceptualized and designed in India. The Concept flaunts a sloping roofline like a coupe while the front fascia gives a striking appearance. It gets huge LED headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs) while the rear end is a bit hunched with wraparound LED tail-lamp cluster. For those asking, Maruti had launched a similar 'Future-s' Concept at the previous iteration of the Auto Expo. The interior details of the Futuro-e are scarce at the moment but it has been learnt that it will have a futuristic cabin with all the latest features. The safety features will also be at par with its rivals.
The SUV coupe will be offered with the BS 6 compliant 1.5L petrol engine when it launches next year. However, the company might also update the 1.5L diesel engine to BS 6 emission levels and it might also become the first vehicle to carry this engine in with BS 6 emission norms. Stay tuned to this page for more updates.
