Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has accomplished a new milestone by selling 10 lakh vehicles. Maruti Suzuki is the top brand in India because the company has played a crucial role in popularizing automatic car technology. Currently, 4 automatic transmission systems have been offered by the company, such as 4-speed Automatic Transmission (AT), Auto Gear Shift (AGS), Electronic-Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT), and Advanced six-speed Automatic Transmission along with a steering-mounted paddle. Maruti Suzuki offers 16 models that come with these automatic transmission systems.

Maruti Suzuki announced on Saturday that with its automotive gearbox, it has sold 10 lakh vehicles. The company launched the AGS technology in 2014, and 65 percent of automatic car sales are equipped with this technology. Out of the total sales, hybrid e-CVT transmissions account for 8 percent of these automatic sales, and AT automatic transmission models account for 27 percent. The automatic cars are being sold widely in various regions, such as Delhi-NCR, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, and Karnataka.
The company offers a 5-speed AGS gearbox in the Celerio, S-Presso, Alto K-10, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Fronx, and Ignis. The four-speed automatic transmission is available in Jimny and Ciaz. Maruti Suzuki offers an advanced 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters in the Brezza, Fronx, XL6, Grand Vitara, and Ertiga. While the company offers e-CVT technology in its Intelligent Electric Hybrid models, the Invicto and Grand Vitara As per the data shared by the company, the high-end automatic variants account for 58 percent of car sales, as they are mostly preferred by NEXA retail chain customers.

The Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) of Maruti Suzuki India, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, stated that "At Maruti Suzuki, we are ardent about providing our customers with the best driving experience. We have made it our mission to spread the 'Joy of Mobility' to all! This spirit has enabled us to democratize automatic transmission technology with numerous types of options. And we are truly humbled by the customer response we have received. We are already close to touching the one lakh automatic vehicle sales mark for FY 23–24, as we stand in the middle of the financial year. Arena customers, meanwhile, prefer mid-variants when making a purchase decision. As things stand today, NEXA accounts for about 58% of automatic car sales at MSIL, while Arena contributes about 42%."
