Maruti Suzuki Ertiga S-CNG BS 6 Launched at Rs 8.95 Lakhs

Maruti Suzuki has launched the first BS6 compliant CNG MPV in the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS 6 compliant Ertiga S-CNG at a sticker price of Rs 8.95 Lakhs (Ex Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being the country's first BS6 compliant CNG MPV, it comes with a mileage of 26.08km/kg. The Ertiga is the second BS 6 compliant S-CNG vehicle from the stable of Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market. Being available in a single VXi variant, over 5.28 lakh units of the MPV have been sold till date.

Speaking at the launch of the BS6 compliant Ertiga S-CNG, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “As a market leader we are constantly working towards offering sustainable mobility solutions to our customers. Ertiga has been a market leader amongst MPVs, and the introduction of BS6 S-CNG will further help augment its leadership in the segment." Maruti Suzuki is following Indian Government's vision of reducing oil import and hence it is introducing S-CNG vehicle range in the country.

"Being the first Company to introduce factory-fitted CNG cars in the country, today we proudly own the largest portfolio of green vehicles. We would like to thank our customers for their confidence and trust in our products,” added Srivastava. The home-grown automaker has equipped all its S-CNG vehicles with dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and intelligent injection system. The Union Government has set a target to enhance the share of natural gas in the energy basket of India from 6.2% now to 15% by 2030. The Government is working to rapidly increase CNG fuel pumps network in the country.
