Maruti Suzuki Launches Smartplay Studio Dock App in India

The carmakers in India have started offering touchscreen infotainment systems on almost all their models in the market and in a short while this connectivity feature has gone on to achieve the status of a deal breaker or maker while making a purchase. However, there are some models where the makers sacrifice this connectivity feature to bring the car to the customers at a more affordable price point or there are some people who bought their car before this trend caught on and now want a touchscreen infotainment system in their car. There always is the aftermarket route that one can take to get a touchscreen system installed on their car, but they are often not the most reliable option around. Therefore, now Maruti Suzuki has come up with a solution that offers almost similar features to what one would find on the Smartplay Studio 2.0.

The new solution form India’s largest maker comes in the form of an app named Smartplay Studio Dock. This app can be installed on your smartphone and then it doubles up as a touchscreen infotainment unit when you are driving. This app can be easily paired with any Maruti car via an aux cable or Bluetooth. The app is an almost accurate replica of the Smartplay Studio 2.0 system that was launched in the market with the latest model of Maruti Suzuki WagonR. This takes care of your navigation and other needs because using a phone while driving is against the law. Whereas, using the phone while having it mounted on a mount in the car is perfectly legal and should pose no problems with the authorities.

Apart from offering regular functionality features like music playback, navigation, and call functions, the nifty little app also doubles up as a multi information display and shows the relevant information about your Maruti car. These alerts include seat-belt reminder, low fuel reminder, mileage info, and door open alert among others. There is also third party support for playback of music via other apps and one can also make and receive calls, handle active calls and swap between multiple calls with ease. One can even comfortably read SMS/WhatsApp messages and even send template replies safely.

Other makers also have similar solutions for their customers in the market, but Smartplay Studio Dock by Maruti is one of the most perfect replicas of the interface offered by the company on their touchscreen infotainment units. The app is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
