The second quarter of 2023 was productive for Maruti Suzuki Ltd., with total vehicle sales up 6.4% from the same time last year. During this time, they sold 4,98,030 vehicles in total.
Sales in the domestic market were even better, up 9.1% from the first quarter of fiscal year 23 to 4,34,812 units. However, compared to 69,437 units in Q1FY23, export sales were somewhat down in Q2 2023 at 63,218 units.
During this quarter, the company experienced an electronic component shortage, which prevented the production of nearly 28,000 automobiles. About 3,55,000 pending client orders were present at the conclusion of the quarter, and they are making every effort to rapidly complete these orders.
Maruti Suzuki India's first-quarter profit exceeded expectations, reaching 24.85 billion rupees ($302.3 million) by the end of June 30. Their strong performance was attributed to increased sales of higher-priced utility vehicles (UV), contributing to a remarkable 22% growth in net sales, reaching 308.45 billion rupees.
