The recall is being initiated to inspect a potential defect in the steering tie rod of these vehicles. Maruti Suzuki has identified that this issue could impact the steerability and handling of the affected units.

Scope of Affected Units

The impacted S Presso and Eeco units were built between July 5, 2021, and February 15, 2023. Owners of these vehicles are advised to have them inspected for the specific steering tie rod issue.

Recall Process and Coverage

Maruti Suzuki will conduct the necessary inspection and replace the faulty part, if required, free of cost. The company's dealer workshops will reach out to the affected vehicle owners to facilitate the recall process.

This year alone, Maruti Suzuki has recalled a total of 1,23,351 units of various models, including the Alto K10, S Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, Grand Vitara, and now, the S Presso and Eeco once again.

Since 2012, Maruti Suzuki has issued a total of 29 recalls, involving 8,63,901 vehicles. The current recall for the S Presso and Eeco stands as the third largest in the company's recall history.
