In a report published by Nikkei on Wednesday, Suzuki Motors is in plans to export made-in-India electric cars to Japan and Europe. Reports state that the automaker will start shipping these small electric SUVs from 2025. This step is taken in the wake of making India a global manufacturing hub for electric vehicles. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki is considering to partner up with Toyota Motors such that the electric vehicles sold in the European market will have a branding of Toyota. This move is taken under their signed agreement for model and technology sharing as stated by the reports.
Maruti Suzuki eVX Concept was revealed earlier this year at the Auto Expo 2023 that made quite a hype in the market. And this was the company's first electric SUV jointly developed with Toyota. The eVX-derived production electric SUV will be bolstered by 40PL Skateboard architecture. Maruti Suzuki has already given hints that this new eVX electric SUV will be India-bound and also cover overseas markets.

The EV will get power through a 60 kWh battery pack, whereas there will be a smaller 48 kWh battery pack for the base variant. And this eVX electric SUV is promising to give a 500 km driving range on a single charge.
Reports stated that Suzuki Motor Corporation with the plan to export made-in-India electric small SUVs to Japan and European markets by 2025, they’re aiming to expedite the production of electric cars globally. Furthermore, the eVX electric SUV is expected to enter production in India from late 2024.
Report further added that Suzuki is contemplating over the idea to supply made in India EVs to Toyota, which will then be sold under Toyota’s branding. The report claimed that Suzuki has chosen India as its first production hub for EVs because of the huge prospective potential of the domestic market and reduced manufacturing costs. And for this to happen, Suzuki is planning to build a new production line for electric vehicles in Gujarat to manufacture EVs. The report also suggested Suzuki’s plan to build small SUVs that will then be exported globally.
