The SUV’s engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift-plus 7G-tronic automatic gearbox and the company claims the SUV can get to 100 kph in 5.4 sec. The standard G63 comes fitted with off-roading tech like all-wheel-drive, three fully locking differentials, an off-road reduction gear and an electronic traction system (4ETS), the AMG version will also get these features. Other additions include a 21-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels, leather interiors, AMG carbon-fibre trim, AMG sport strips on flanks and a stainless-steel under-ride guard.

Mercedes is expected to launch an all-new version of its G-class at the Frankfurt motor show later this year. Both SUVs will be on sale under the Mercedes-Benz 'designo' personalisation platform that allows customers to customize their cars extensively.
