The engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift-plus 7G-tronic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via a 4matic all-wheel-drive system. The GLS 63 features an AMG 'ride control' sports suspension with 'Active Curve System' roll stabilisation, there’s a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system, heated seats with massage function for the front two occupants, second row electrically foldable seats and AMG bodystyling, chrome fins, and red-painted brake calipers.

The G 63 Edition 463 is based on the company's G-class SUV. The SUV’s engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift-plus 7G-tronic automatic gearbox and the company claims the SUV can get to 100 kph in 5.4 sec. The standard G63 comes fitted with off-roading tech like all-wheel-drive, three fully locking differentials, an off-road reduction gear and an electronic traction system (4ETS), the AMG version will also get these features. Other additions include a 21-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels, leather interiors, AMG carbon-fibre trim, AMG sport strips on flanks and a stainless-steel under-ride guard.

Mercedes is expected to launch an all-new version of its G-class at the Frankfurt motor show later this year. Both SUVs will be on sale under the Mercedes-Benz 'designo' personalisation platform that allows customers to customize their cars extensively.
