Mercedes Benz India has launched the AMG GLE 53 Coupé at an introductory price of Rs 1.20 Crore (Ex-Showroom India, except Kerala) in the country. With 13,000+ units sold till date in India, the GLE is now offered in four trims: 300d, 400d, 450 and AMG GLE 53 Coupé. Being touted as the spiritual successor to the AMG GLE 43, it is the first-ever ‘AMG 53 series’ in the Indian market. The company now offers the most comprehensive SUV portfolio in the luxury car segment with 7 SUVs and SUV Coupés in India. The German luxury automaker also revealed that it has received a record 500+ bookings online for its products.

Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupé flaunts AMG specific radiator grille upfront while having a styling silhouette and boot capacity of 655 litres which can be further extended to 1800 litres. It gets AMG Dynamic Select with seven drive programs: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual, Trail and Sand. The high-performance Coupe is equipped with Mercedes me connect that offers multiple convenient connect features like remote engine start, remote lock/unlock, car locator, speed monitor, emergency e-Call which are accessible from the customer’s smart phone/tablet. The AMG GLE 53 Coupé is the first AMG with MBUX infotainment system in India, which is based on AI and ML with ‘Over the Air’ updates.

Mechanically, it is powered by a BS6 compliant 3.0L AMG six-cylinder in-line engine with twin scroll turbocharging and F1 inspired 48 V EQ-Boost. The engine delivers a top power of 435bhp between 5500-6100rpm and peak torque of 520Nm between 1800-5800rpm. The EQ-Boost gives an extra power output of 22bhp and torque performance of 250Nm if and when needed. The engine is linked to a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT automatic transmission with power being transmitted to all the four wheels via the 4MATIC+ with variable torque distribution. Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupé also comes with Selectable AMG performance exhaust system and AMG Active Ride Control+ with active roll stabilization system based on 48V Technology.
