Later this year, Mercedes-Benz intends to release the complete production-spec model worldwide.

The EQG concept will be on display in India by Mercedes-Benz India at the Bharat Mobility Show in 2024. Mercedes-Benz debuted the EQG just over three years ago at the 2021 Munich Auto Show. Since then, the company has been testing the model and intends to launch the full production-spec model globally later this year. The facelifted GLA and AMG GLE 53 Coupe are the two new models that the brand has previously confirmed it will debut at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show.

With a few minor exceptions, the EQG concept's design is essentially the same as that of the G-class with ICE power. The illuminated black covered grille is the most noticeable. The SUV's door sills, headlamp cover, and roof rack are among the other external features that have LED stripes applied to them. It also receives a unique two-tone paint job, with the lower body painted metallic silver and the upper body painted black.

With an emphasis on preserving the vehicle's off-road capabilities, the EQG is constructed on the same ladder-frame chassis as the regular G-class. The car's suspension system consists of a rigid axle at the back and a separate suspension on the front axle. Additionally, at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the electric SUV's G-Turn feature, which allows the vehicle to rotate 360 degrees on its axis.

Mercedes-Benz has already disclosed that the car will be powered by four motors, one for each wheel and integrated into the ladder-frame battery. The manufacturer has not yet released any additional information regarding the electric SUV's specifications, and it is likely that it won't do so until after its planned later-in-the-year worldwide launch.
