Mercedes launches its GLS Grand Edition in India

There are visual changes to the exterior and a rear entertainment system inside.

Mercedes-Benz has added a new special edition of the GLS, called the Grand Edition, with prices starting from Rs 86.90 lakh. You can buy the car as the GLS 350d diesel or the GLS 400 petrol. The limited-edition model features cosmetic changes on the outside and more equipment in the cabin. The special editions are more expensive by Rs 4 lakh.

On the outside, you get automatic LED headlamps with a black surround, new black-finished, 10-spoke, 20-inch alloy wheels, chrome-finished fins on the bonnet and Grand Edition badging. Colour options that are exclusive to this special edition are Citrine brown metallic, Designo diamond white bright, Cavansite blue metallic, Obsidian black metallic, Iridium silver metallic and Tenorite grey metallic.

In the cabin, there is a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel (wrapped in nappa leather) with paddle shifters, 12 function keys, and a nappa leather airbag cover. You also get a new, redesigned instrument panel with a semi-integrated colour screen. Rear seat entertainment system is standard, and this pack includes two 7.0-inch high-definition touchscreen infotainment screens mounted on the front seat backs which feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood, the same 258hp/620Nm, 3.0-litre V6 diesel as the GLS 350d and the 333hp/480Nm, 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine of the GLS 400. The engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

Additionally, you can purchase the Compact Pack (Rs 75,000 for the GLS 400 and Rs 1.04 lakh for the GLS 350d), which gets you two years and unlimited mileage for maintenance related work.
