MG Gloster Teased on Official Indian Website ; Festive Season Launch

MG Gloster would be the company's third product in India after the Hector and Hector Plus.

We recently told you that MG Gloster was spotted in flesh on the Indian roads without any camouflage. Now, the British brand has teased the gigantic SUV on its official Indian website, hinting a launch around festive season in the months of October-November 2020. For those asking, MG Gloster SUV would be the company's third product in India after the Hector and Hector Plus while it will take on the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4 with a price tag of around Rs 45 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).

MG Gloster is so huge in dimensions that the length even exceeds Toyota Land Cruiser which measures more than 4.5 meters. As for styling, it will flaunt a massive chrome grille in trapezoid shape and sleek wraparound LED headlamps upfront. The LED fog lamps and skid plate finished in silver sum up the design at front fascia. The SUV rides on 6-spoke alloy wheels while the rear profile boasts of rear diffuser in gloss black, a diffuser and quad exhaust pipes. Inside the cabin, it will boast of a 8-inch digital instrument cluster, big panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, ventilated, heated and cooled front seats, 360-degree camera system and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard.

MG Gloser safety features will include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), 6-airbags and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages etc. to name a few. Under the bonnet, the SUV will have the Fiat-sourced 2.0L Multijet II diesel engine, albeit with twin turbochargers. The engine will develop a top power of 218bhp and 480Nm while linked to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a 4x4 drive system. Though, in various global markets, MG Gloster is offered with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine which belts out 221bhp and 360Nm. Being based on the Chinese-spec Maxus D90, it will be locally manufactured at the company's Halol manufacturing unit in Gujarat.
