MG Gloster was recently teased at the various social media handles of the company

MG Motor India is all set to launch the Gloster SUV in the country. It was recently teased at the various social media handles of the company. Though, people have already seen the Gloster at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. Recently, MG Gloster was spotted testing without any camouflage by our friends at AutoCar India and it was learnt that the SUV will be offered with an on-demand 4WD system. The Gloster will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4 in the Indian market.

Going by the spy-shots, one can clearly notice three badges at the rear end: 4WD, ADAS and Internet Inside. The 'ADAS' badge stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems which include an array of systems in the form of adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, frontal collision warning and hands-free auto-parking. People are familiar with the third 'Internet Inside' badge as the other two MG SUVs - Hector and ZS EV - too flaunt it. However, what caught our eye this time was the revised rear bumper which was different from the one with the model showcased at the Auto Expo. The bumper comes with quad exhaust tips and a faux rear diffuser while 'GLOSTER' lettering is also present in bold at the tailgate.

Being based on the ladder-frame chassis and a rebadged 'desi' avatar of the China-spec Maxus D90 SUV, MG Gloster measures over 5 meters in length. Some of the salient features available will be a massive panoramic sunroof, three-zone auto climate control, adaptive LED headlights and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Mechanically, it will be powered by a set of BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The twin 2.0L turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will be available as standard with options of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. MG Gloster bookings are expected to begin by September 2020 while it will be launched during the festive season of Diwali around October-November in the Indian market with expected price of Rs 45 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
